All Water/Aid Station Volunteers will report directly to the location where you are volunteering at the time listed below. Inside the Station Bin, will be your volunteer shirt and other equipment (flags, signs, safety vests, radios, etc). If there are no supplies at your location when you arrive, just wait there and a race staff will bring all of your supplies to you between 7:45 and 8:30 am. There is a sign-in sheet inside the bin. You must sign in and out, this is how we pay you or your charity. The Volunteer Coordinator is Missy. You can reach her on the two-way radio
Water/Aid Station Volunteers will hand out cups of water, Gatorade and in some locations, animal crackers and Swedish Fish. The cups should be filled 1/3-1/2 full. Hold the cup in the palm of your hand and hold it out for runners to grab as they run past you. Yell out “water” or “Gatorade” so the runners can decide what they want. If you have food at your station, let the runners know as well. The food should be placed in the smallest cups in your bin. Do not block the path of the runners but stay close enough that they do not have to jump over curbs to get to you. Runners will drop their cups on the ground when they are done, you should rake the cups up and place in trash bags. When you are finished, please drain all coolers (unless it is an extremely hot day) and have your area cleaned up so the race staff can place everything back in their vehicles. Thank you. BRING BUG SPRAY AND SPF IF YOU THINK YOU MAY NEED IT.
