MARATHON

Start/finish location: Winnequah Park – Monona, WI
Start Time: 8:00-8:05 am

The second loop of the Full Marathon closes at 11:05 am. If you do not start your second loop before 11:05, you will be given a half marathon time.

The Rockin Brews Marathon combines running with 2 of America’s Favorite things, Craft Beer & Music. The event is designed for groups, individuals and serious competitors. There is a Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Half Marathon Walk (timed) and Team Relays. Musicians will play at the Finish Line Festival. The Finish Line Festival will feature unlimited soda, beer (21+) and of course, live music. The course follows paved paths and tree covered streets along the shores of beautiful Lake Monona, providing cooler temperatures throughout 75% of the course. Runners will view the beautiful skyline of Madison, WI and run under the Frank LLoyd Wright Monona Terrace. Full Marathon participants will loop the same course twice which allows them to drop off at 13.1 miles if weather conditions are less than perfect or for any other reason. All participants will receive an official Rockin Brews race shirt, post-race snacks, a Goody Bag, unlimited beer & cider, a cool finisher medal and free entry into the Finish Line Festival. Participants can sample as many beers as they like.

There are Aid Stations at mile 2.8, mile 4.8, mile 6.8, mile 8.8 mile 10.8, mile 13.1, mile 15.9, mile 17.9, mile 19.9, mile 21.9, mile 23.9 and mile 26.2. There will be Gatorade and water at every station. The 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th station will have some form of carbs (animal crackers…) and some fruit.

The Half Marathon Walk is timed but is strictly for walkers. All walkers will receive a goody bag, Half Marathon Walk shirt and a walker’s finisher medal, unlimited beer and cider as well as any other treats that the runners receive. If you want the runner’s medal and shirt as well as an official race finish time, you need to register for the Half Marathon instead.

Do you want to participate in The Rockin Brews Marathon but prefer a shorter distance? Recruit your team of six runners and make it a team effort. It’s fun and easy! There will be a Team Meet-Up Area 1/2 block before the Finish Line for those wishing to cross the Finish Line as a team. Every team member will receive an official race shirt, pre-race snacks, post-race snacks, a goodie bag, unlimited beers & ciders and an awesome finisher medal.

The 6 Relay legs are as follows:
1st Leg – From Winnequah Park to 610 John Nolen Drive – 4 Miles
2nd Leg – 
From 610 John Nolen Drive to 1800 Yahara Place – 4 Miles
2rd Leg – 
From 1800 Yahara Place to Winnequah Park – 5.1 Miles
4th Leg – From Winnequah Park to 610 John Nolen Drive – 4 Miles

FULL MARATHON RELAY
– The team packet includes your matching bib numbers, safety pins, T-shirts, timing chip and other goodies.
– Bib Numbers will be worn on the front.  
– Timing Chip – All teams will be given one timing chip, the last person will cross the finish line with the chip on their bib.
– Exchange Areas are well marked. Please look for your exchange areas when approaching the transition locations. Please try to be courteous to faster participants. It is often advisable for teams to wear bright matching shirts, hats, shorts, etc. If you plan to exchange clothes, have that prearranged with your team members. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Each relay exchange area will include water, Gatorade and port-a-potties.
– Team Meet-Up Area is 1/2 block before the Finish Line for those wishing to cross the Finish Line as a team.

EXCHANGE DROP OFF LOCATIONS
One vehicle can be used for dropping off and picking up relay team members. The easiest way to do it is to drop off Runner 1 at the Starting Line at Winnequah Park near Nichols Rd & Healy Ln. and then drive the rest of the team to the first exchange at 610 John Nolen Drive, where runners 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 will be waiting. Once Runner 1 arrives, Runner 2 will run to 1800 Yahara Place, where Runners 1, 3, 4, 5 & 6 will be waiting. Runner 3 will run to the Finish Line where runners 1, 2, 4, 5, & 6 will be waiting. Repeat this until Runner 5 exchanges with Runner 6 and then the team will meet up on the corner of Nichols Rd and the Monona Community Center parking lot before the finish and run to the finish together.

5K RUN

The Rockin Brews 5K Run is a fun way to kick off you Labor Day Weekend festivities. An easy 5K run followed by the Finish Line Festival, which features unlimited craft beer, cider (21+), water and of course, live music.

The course follows tree covered streets with a couple 35′ climbs. All participants will receive an official Rockin Brews race shirt, post-race snacks, a Goody Bag, unlimited beer & cider, a cool finisher medal and free entry into the Finish Line Festival. Participants can sample as many beers as they like.
