COURSE MARSHALS

All Course Marshals will report to Missy at the Volunteer Check-In near the Starting Line at 7:40 am. You will pick up your volunteer shirt, safety vest and traffic flag. After you receive these items, you should go to your post listed below. 5K Course Marshals can report around 8:40.

The Volunteer Coordinator is Missy. You can reach her on her cell, which is listed on your lanyard.

Course Marshals will be located at various intersections on the course that need additional support to keep runners pointed in the right direction and to make vehicles aware of runners. Runners do not stop at stop signs so it is important that the Course Marshals use their safety flags to warn drivers to wait until the runners have passed before proceeding. If you need a bathroom break, you should call Missy and she will send someone to fill your spot while you are gone. All Course Marshals are located less than 3/4 mile from the Start/Finish area.

Runners will approach you and pass you as they make their way around the lake. You should see the first runners around the times listed below. This is going to be extremely busy and crowded so be ready for a rush of 1000 runners (near the start but spread out near the end). You will then see the relay teams shortly after the first wave of runners. After 11:30am, you will get sporadic full marathon runners on their second lap. This will continue until 1:45pm.
BRING BUG SPRAY AND SPF IF YOU THINK YOU MAY NEED IT. YOU MAY ALSO BRING A LAWN CHAIR SO YOU CAN SIT WHEN IT’S SLOW.

Winnequah Rd & Dean Ave – 8:45 am to 1:30 pm

Starry Ave & Schofield St – 8:50 am to 1:45 pm

Shore Acres Rd & Lamboley Ave – 8:50 am to 1:45 pm

COURSE MARSHALS | 5K COURSE

Winnequah Rd & Bridge Rd – 9:00 am to 10:00 am

Owen Rd & Midmoor Rd – 9:00 am to 10:15 am

Marathon and Half Marathon Runners & Walkers, will pass you from 8:00-8:35, and 5K Runners will pass you from 9:00-9:10. The Marathon runners will pass you again from 9:15-11:10

5K RUN ONLY

Runners & Walkers from the Marathon, will pass here between 8:05-8:55 am. The first group of runners will be Marathon and Half Marathon runners. The next wave will be Half Marathon Walkers. The 5K Run starts at 9:00, so starting around 9:05, you will see the 5K Lead Bike and Lead Runner, at this time, you can shout out “5K to the Left”, to the runners, until they have all passed you. You need to guide the 5K RUNNERS ONLY, across the street and to the left. All other participants will stay inside the safety cones, and turn right.
